Console Eggshell Band — Art 86

A console table built around a single graphic gesture: a wide central band of hand-laid eggshell crossing the top of an otherwise-monolithic deep maroon lacquer body. Restrained, architectural, and quietly luxurious.

The eggshell band is laid by hand fragment-by-fragment, then sealed under multiple layers of clear lacquer so the crackled white surface sits flush with the high-gloss maroon around it. The contrast of matte texture against mirror polish defines the piece.

Materials: Hevea wood, natural lacquer, hand-laid eggshell

Finish: 30+ layers of natural lacquer, hand-polished to satin lustre
